WHAT TYPE OF BOAT COVER TIE DOWNS ARE USED FOR A BOAT ON LIFT APPLICATIONb
The easiest boat cover tie down for a boat on a lift is a webbing strap with quick release buckles. In order to use this type of tie down you need a way to attach it to the cover. If your cover is a production manufactured cover you will need some webbing loops to thread this type of strap through. Most factory produced boat covers do come with this type of loop.
If the cover is custom made or you are having a custom cover made, you can have these loops added or some say to tie down.
When I manufacture a cover at my shop I actually sew part of the quick release buckle into my covers hem. This allows complete removal of the numbered straps from the cover for ease of handling.
Not everyone does it this way, but I find it to be easiest on the customers.
Now, you can buy many straps on the market today provided you have the webbing loop sewn in your cover. Look for heavy duty polyester webbing if possible.
Now I am going to toot my own horn. The straps I sell are the polyester heavy duty webbing coupled with quick release buckles with a 300 lb. breaking strength.
