how to fasten window flap strap with snap or velcro
sewed onto rolledup flap or what ever else?

Hi Tom,
Well most shops will install a pair of roll up straps. They usually snap up securing the flap. Velcro has a million great uses, but gives out quickly, so it is not ideal for long term securing. The only way you could accomplish this on your own would be to have someone sew up some straps with a lift the dot female at the end of the strap. They would also send you the male 2 prong lift the dot fastener that goes in the canvas. You could then install the strap into the canvas, preferably in double fabric, such as where the flap is sewn to the sunbrella. This would add strength, otherwise this assembly might tear out of a single layer of sunbrella. This should accomplish your goal.
Hope this is clear, you can see the lift the dot fasteners on my boat snap guide page.
Thanks for the question.
