Top Notch 11.5 compared to Aqualon Edge

Aqualon Edge

Aqualon Edge

I am looking for a material to cover to jet skis and a tender, it will be in direct sunlight all the time and will incur winds so Fabric needs a good tensile strength. I was going to purchase the Top Notch product but came across the Aqualon and Harbor edge fabrics (which I have never used before). Can you give me a comparison in strength of them. Sun and wind being its biggest contributing factors. Thank you so much

Hi Louise,
Both are great boat covers material fabrics, but Top Notch is substantially stronger. That being said, both will hold up to wind.
Aqualon has a 7 year warranty and Top notch has an 8 year.
Aqualon is lighter and white on the bottom. Both are cool fabrics and will not harm the vinyl it may touch on your boat.
Both are PFAS free, meaning you the forever chemicals have been removed leaving you with a fabric that may need more diligence in keeping clean.
However, this is true across all fabrics.
Polyester’s strength begins to diminish as it ages unfortunately, but again, this is true of all fabrics.
Top Notch is one heck of a tough fabric and makes a good trailer cover, but is very heavy when making boat covers over 18’. So beware on that.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,Tammy
