Radius Corners
by: Tammy

A majority of fabricators including myself use # 10 coil zippers.
The teeth on a coil zipper differ from the teeth on plastic marine zippers. They are an interlocking continuious coiling filament.
You can find them in my store, search coil zipper.
The teeth on this style zipper do much better than the bulky plastic teeth. But the real secret is the larger the radius the better. Maybe 16" or better. You first sew on down the outside radius of the zipper, then come back and deal with the inside radius. You will always have some puckering on the inside edge of the zipper, but use a t-pin while you sew to make small consistent pleats in the zipper tape and you can get a neat, clean job. So the secret is coil zipper and large radius.
